After creating a three-hour disaster of a film about New York City’s water system, a duo of filmmakers aims higher by capturing the daily happenings at the private detective agency “Boone and Murphy.” Unfortunately, cases involving unfaithful spouses and lost pets don’t generate much income. When Murphy has an affair with a client’s wife and subsequently departs, Boone faces the threat of shutting down the agency. To prevent this, the filmmakers must actively participate in the investigations to guarantee their film’s completion.
