In 1999, Argentina faces a severe economic downturn as the peso collapses. Ariel, a young man from Buenos Aires’ Jewish community, grapples with his mother’s terminal illness, secures a job monitoring surveillance cameras during the night shift, and contemplates his first sexual experience. Meanwhile, Santamaria, a man in his middle years, loses his position at the bank and is left by his wife. He begins retrieving lost wallets from dumpsters to return them to their rightful owners. Ariel shares Santamaria’s story with a TV reporter who focuses on street life. This reporter, Laura, is in a relationship with another woman but might be open to new possibilities. Ariel is attracted to Laura, while Santamaria pursues Elsa, a restroom attendant whose husband is incarcerated. As Christmas and Hanukkah draw near, the question remains: will any of them find connection?
