In this political comedy, Pepe Soriano stars as a shopkeeper from Madrid who is abducted by Franco’s minions. Once captured, he is coerced into impersonating the dictator at various official events. Meanwhile, Pepe’s prolonged and mysterious disappearance leads his wife to suspect he has been kidnapped and possibly murdered, prompting her to seek contact with him through spiritual means. However, Pepe manages to visit her secretly at night and reveals that he will tug on his ear during public events to indicate that it is him, not Franco.
