In the year 2199 AD, the Yamato attempts to depart from the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy after acquiring the “Cosmo Reverse System” from its destination, Iscandar. Unexpectedly, at the galaxy’s edge, they encounter an enigmatic faction known as the “Gatlantis.” The crew learns that this group is led by the commander of the Gutaba expeditionary force, who goes by the name “Goran Dagaamu of Thunder.” The commander demands the surrender of the Yamato. Eager to return to Earth, the Yamato evades the confrontation. However, it soon comes under attack from a formidable beam weapon known as the “Flame Direct Attack Cannon,” capable of surpassing spatial boundaries.
