Diane Ford, a solitary truck driver, has an 11-year-old son named Peter, whom she rarely interacts with, and she’s perfectly content with that arrangement. However, when Peter’s father, Len, becomes ill, he requests that Diane look after their son temporarily. Diane hesitantly consents, only to soon discover that parenting disrupts her autonomous way of life. Meanwhile, Peter is also not particularly pleased with the new situation.
