In the aftermath of the dynamic 1960s, a fresh wave of songwriters emerged, characterized by deeply personal and emotionally raw music. Accompanied by just an acoustic guitar or a simple piano, these captivating artists flocked to Los Angeles, which was becoming the heart of the American music scene. Their hub for artistic expression was an old beatnik folk venue aptly named The Troubadour. The film “TROUBADOURS” explores the journey of Carole King, James Taylor, and the singer/songwriter movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. It also weaves in the fascinating tale of the renowned Troubadour club, which solidified their musical heritage, the enigmatic promoter Doug Weston who managed it, and the careers of some of the most talented songwriters of their era—and possibly any era—including Carole King, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Joni Mitchell, Kris Kristofferson, Bonnie Raitt, the Eagles, and many more.
