Fifteen years after their groundbreaking indie film catapulted them into successful filmmaking careers, Splick and Jason find themselves confronting personal crises as they approach their forties. Having not communicated since a disagreement in the late nineties, both are struggling with stagnant careers and relationships. Splick’s latest TV series, which focused on his character’s bizarre obsession with desserts, is abruptly canceled by the network, forcing him to move back into his childhood room at his mother’s New York apartment. Annoyed by constant reminders of the “good” and “funny” films he once made with his former collaborator, Jason, Splick decides to track him down and attempt a reconciliation.
