Satoru Fujinuma, a struggling manga artist, grapples with his inability to express himself. Yet, he possesses a unique supernatural gift that compels him to avert deaths and disasters by being transported back in time to just before these events occur, allowing him to relive the moments until he can prevent them. One day, Satoru finds himself wrongly accused of murder following an accident. Determined to rescue the victim, he travels back in time, only to land in his childhood as a grade-school student, a month before his classmate Kayo Hinazuki vanished. Satoru is now on a mission to save Kayo and uncover the truth behind her disappearance.
