Chrissie and her friends embark on a road trip for one last adventure before one of them is deployed to Vietnam. During their journey, they encounter bikers who intimidate them, leading to an accident that ejects Chrissie from the car. A law enforcement officer arrives, kills one of the bikers, and takes Chrissie’s friends to the Hewitt family home, where the young Leatherface is honing his terrifying skills.
