In Zenica, a massive steel plant continuously releases harmful emissions, rendering the city one of the most polluted globally and endangering its residents’ lives. Samir Lemes, along with activists from Eko Forum, battles against a powerful corporation, local politicians prioritizing employment, investments, and re-election, and the EU, which funds the corporation without enforcing regulations or international standards. Ironically, the EU labels Zenica as part of a ‘Green City Project’ by adding bike lanes in a place where simply breathing is hazardous. This film explores the themes of financial cynicism, political pragmatism, and greenwashing, highlighting the unexpectedly significant involvement of Western European nations.
