“The Seminarian” follows the journey of Ryan, a gay student who has not come out, during his last semester at a seminary. Despite the institution’s negative attitude towards homosexuality, Ryan finds solace in two fellow gay students, Gerald and Anthony, with whom he shares his secret. He also maintains a close bond with his deeply religious mother, who remains unaware of his true sexual identity. To pursue his dream of doctoral studies, Ryan must complete a compelling theological thesis. As he delves into his project, titled “The Divine Gift of Love,” he starts a relationship with Bradley, a man he met online who struggles with commitment. Ryan shares his experiences with Gerald and Anthony, only to discover they face their own romantic challenges. This leads Ryan to reevaluate his beliefs about divine love.
