Kaifeng awakens with a severe hangover, his heart heavy with longing for his deceased wife, Qiujie, as the memories of the tragic accident flood back. What was supposed to be a romantic climbing trip turned into a nightmare. Both avid climbers, they had planned to conquer a Himalayan peak to mark their anniversary. However, an avalanche left Kaifeng burdened with endless remorse. Qiujie, his beloved partner and the mother of his child, is lost to him forever. In his grief, Kaifeng seeks guidance from a spirit medium on how to bring her back. To his astonishment and delight, Qiujie does return, but she has little recollection of her past, including their son, and no memory of the accident. The medium warns, “Only those who love Qiujie can see her spirit. You must never let her realize she is a spirit, or she will vanish forever.” Kaifeng understands that her presence is temporary. He must strive to maintain the secret for as long as he can, alongside his son.
