Almost 13 years old, Alice defies authority by accusing her mother, Eva, of murder to the Paris police. Despite lacking proof, Eva, who is wealthy and influential, evades any legal repercussions. Determined, Alice flees, intent on locating her father, whom she insists resides in Portugal. The authorities, convinced her father is deceased and that Alice is in denial, assign Anita, an Italian officer temporarily working with the French, to track Alice down and return her. Concurrently, Eva has mobilized a private paramilitary group to search for Alice. In her journey, Alice finds an ally in Hugo, a former soldier who has become a hitman and gang member. He vows to help her reach her father. Their paths converge in a quaint town along the Portuguese coastline.
