A condemned prisoner wishes to savor “doenjang jjigae” (a spicy Korean bean paste stew) one last time before his execution. Choi Yu-Jin (played by Ryoo Seung-Ryong), a television producer, becomes intrigued by the inmate’s story and decides to investigate it for a forthcoming news segment. During his research, he encounters a mysterious woman named Jang Hye-Jin (portrayed by Lee Yo-Won), whose version of doenjang jjigae is so exquisite that it moves people to tears. As Choi Yu-Jin digs deeper, he uncovers the poignant love story between Jang Hye-Jin and Kim Hyun-Soo (played by Lee Dong-Wook).
