Set in the dazzling era of Britain’s 1920s, “The Laureate” chronicles the life of the young British War Poet, Robert Graves. At the time, Graves is married and has four children when he encounters Laura Riding, an American writer, and they begin a romantic relationship. Challenging societal norms, Riding moves in with Graves and his wife, forming a ménage à trois. The dynamic shifts further with the arrival of the dashing Irish poet Geoffrey Phibbs, expanding the arrangement to a ménage à quatre. However, escalating tensions and rivalries soon lead to a situation where Graves finds himself suspected of attempted murder.
