In a London suburb, Mahmud Nasir resides with his wife, Saamiya, and their two children, Rashid and Nabi. His son is set to wed Uzma, the stepdaughter of Arshad Al-Masri, an Egyptian-born cleric from Waziristan, Pakistan, known for his controversial views. Although Mahmud is not a strict Muslim—he consumes alcohol and doesn’t pray regularly—he agrees to win over Arshad, whose blessing is essential for the marriage to proceed.
