Dax Ryan Locke, the son of Julie and Austin Locke, was born on June 26, 2007, and was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia known as AML M7 at just 13 months old. “The Heart of Christmas” takes place in Washington, Illinois, and at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a leading institution for pediatric cancer research and treatment, as well as other serious childhood illnesses. The narrative is presented through flashbacks from the viewpoint of Megan (played by Candace Cameron Bure), a thriving businesswoman, wife, and mother of two. Her dedication to faith and family is revitalized after she reads Julie Locke’s blog, an online journal documenting her journey following Dax’s diagnosis with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
