Ping, a young aristocrat, has left his royal duties to pursue a career in music. He becomes an apprentice to the renowned musician, Master Duang, who possesses a mysterious drum known as Perng Mang. This drum has the ability to either grant success or bring about death. Meanwhile, a conceited musician named Muan attempts to persuade the students to abandon Master Duang. Those who heed his advice meet inexplicable and gruesome fates. After Muan defeats Master Duang, the master entrusts Ping with his musical legacy and the Perng Mang. Ping learns the drum’s dark secret: it was crafted from the skin of a woman named Thip, who coincidentally shares the name of the woman he loves.
