Mari Hirakawa, who is of mixed Chinese and Japanese heritage, grew up as the daughter of a Karate instructor. From a young age, she was compelled to train under her father’s guidance, which led to a deep-seated aversion to Karate. Her sole desire has been to sell the dojo once her father passed away.
