Set in the 1930s, the story follows Anna, who has transformed her identity in Italy to become an actress. She is poised to both star in and produce a movie for an Italian film company with a dubious reputation. This venture brings with it the typical scandals of the film industry, including casting couch incidents, romantic entanglements among the stars, lavish parties at the producer’s estate, and numerous situations that call for nudity.
