In 1969 Turin, the peaceful childhood of nine-year-old Massimo is abruptly disrupted by the enigmatic passing of his mother. Struggling to come to terms with this harsh reality, Massimo rejects the notion, even when a priest assures him she is in Heaven. Fast forward to the 1990s, Massimo has grown into a successful journalist. However, after covering the conflict in Sarajevo, he starts experiencing panic attacks. As he gets ready to sell his parents’ home, Massimo is compelled to face the haunting memories of his past. A compassionate doctor named Elisa might be the key to helping him confront and heal from his childhood traumas.
