Inspired by true events, “Summer of ’67” vividly portrays the chaotic era of the 1960s and the challenges encountered by those affected by the Vietnam War. The story follows Milly (Rachel Schrey), a young wife and mother, who must reside with her mother-in-law while her husband, Gerald (Cameron Gilliam), serves aboard the USS Forrestal. Meanwhile, Kate (Bethany Davenport) is torn between her high school love, Peter (Christopher Dalton), and her new free-spirited boyfriend, Van (Sam Brooks). Ruby Mae (Sharonne Lanier) discovers genuine love with Reggie (Jerrold Edwards), only to have him drafted into the military. Each woman grapples with the uncertainty of whether their loved ones will return, and if they do, whether life will ever return to what it once was.
