The film chronicles the life of Joe Heaney, a celebrated traditional Irish folk singer known for his extensive repertoire of over 500 sean nós (‘old style’) songs. Heaney’s journey took him from Ireland to the UK, and eventually to New York City, where he made his home following a performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
