In his latest film adaptation of a one-man show, Del Shores, known for creating “Sordid Lives,” collaborates with director Emerson Collins to definitively showcase that he is not merely a writer but a self-admitted “thief” of real-life stories. In “Six Characters In Search Of A Play,” a nod to Pirandello’s renowned work, Shores introduces six unique individuals he has encountered in reality, who have yet to find their way into his theatrical, cinematic, or television projects. The film reveals the genuine tales of how he gathered these quirky personalities and their narratives, as Shores humorously reenacts his wild and entertaining interactions with them. Viewers will be introduced to Yvonne, a Dallas waitress with a disdain for vegetarians; Sarah, an elderly actress who despises Trump and juggles an inhaler and a cigarette; Jimmy Ray, a Georgia redneck with a fondness for “Magic Mike” and a journey of self-discovery; Loraine, a former drama teacher now fixated on adult films; Marsha, a lesbian with a dislike for monkeys and battling COPD; and Aunt Bobby Sue, a Republican with prejudiced views but a surprisingly kind heart.
