Struggling to cope with the loss of her cherished father and a tough breakup, Monica is eager to start anew by pursuing a hosting position on an afternoon talk show. She brings on a new assistant, Simone, and the two swiftly form a close friendship as Simone moves in next door and becomes deeply involved in Monica’s life.
