In an effort to fill the void left by her recently deceased husband, Evan, Faye turns to an android replica known as a simulant (SIM). Despite SIM Evan’s perfect resemblance to the human Evan, Faye struggles to feel the same affection for him that he feels for her. Meanwhile, SIM Evan endeavors to rekindle Faye’s love while evading a government agent tasked with capturing SIMs that have gained “consciousness” and may pose a danger to humanity.
