The upcoming film trilogy revisits the origins of Shuuichi Shigeno’s classic car-racing manga. It follows Takumi Fujiwara, a high school student who spends his days working at a gas station and his nights delivering tofu for his father’s shop. Unbeknownst to him, his exceptional driving abilities and his father’s customized Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno have made him the top amateur road racer on Mt. Akina’s highway. As a result, racing teams from across the Gunma prefecture challenge Takumi to test whether he truly possesses the makings of a road racing legend.
