This documentary series chronicles the journey of two novice filmmakers, Shane Dawson and Anna Martemucci, as they each get the chance to direct their own film based on the same original script. “The Chair” captures the entire process, from production to marketing and theatrical release, of both films. Ultimately, the audience will decide which director wins a $250,000 prize through multiplatform voting.

Shane Dawson is a prominent internet personality with over 10 million subscribers and more than a billion views on his YouTube comedy channels. Anna Martemucci is a writer, actor, and filmmaker known for co-writing, producing, and starring in the indie film “Breakup at a Wedding.” Both directors will have the freedom to shape their films using their unique creativity and backgrounds. Actor Zachary Quinto, along with his producing partners Corey Moosa and Neal Dodson, will join Moore and the script’s original producer, Josh Shader, to mentor Dawson and Martemucci.
