A U.S. satellite falls from orbit and lands near a small Utah town, releasing a lethal virus that wipes out nearly all the residents, leaving only two survivors who might hold the key to developing a vaccine. While the military works to isolate the region, a group of expert scientists is brought together to discover a cure and prevent the alien virus, known as Andromeda, from spreading further.
