When Emery was just six, an alien ship crash-landed in her quiet hometown. The intentions of these extraterrestrial visitors, known as the Atrians, were irrelevant as a fierce battle broke out between humans and the new arrivals. Amidst the chaos, Roman, a young Atrian boy of the same age, stumbled upon a shed behind Emery’s house. There, she shielded him from danger, offering him food, comfort, and friendship. A decade later, the Atrians have adjusted to life on Earth but remain confined to a heavily-guarded area called the Sector, designed to keep them apart from humans. For the first time, a group of Atrian teenagers is set to attend a suburban human high school, aiming to test the possibility of human-alien coexistence. Emery and Roman cross paths once more in a school and society filled with suspicion towards the Atrians. As the world around them seethes with hostility and bias, their connection grows ever stronger and increasingly perilous.
