After a traumatic experience at a middle school brass band competition, Kumiko Oumae decides to leave music behind as she enters high school, seeking a new beginning. However, she soon finds herself surrounded by peers who share an enthusiasm for the high school brass band. Encouraged by her fellow band members, Kumiko rediscovers her passion for music. Among her new companions are Hazuki Katou, a beginner tubist; Sapphire Kawashima, an experienced contrabassist; and Asuka Tanaka, the band’s vice president and another euphonist. She also reconnects with old friends, including her childhood companion Shuuichi Tsukamoto, who has switched from horn to trombone, and Reina Kousaka, a trumpeter from her middle school days.

Despite their ambitions to reach the national band competition, the group faces internal disarray. Even participating in the local festival seems daunting unless their new band advisor, Noboru Taki, can bring order to the chaos.
