Albin, a youthful and idealistic clergyman, comes back to Sweden from his mission in Kenya to serve at a church in the quaint village of Östra Nöbberup. Eager to revitalize the parish’s activities, Albin employs unconventional strategies to draw people to the church. However, his approach is met with disapproval from the other parish members, particularly from the curate Jan Samuelsson, who is eyeing Albin’s position as priest.
