The year is 1988, marking 35 years since the events of Fred Schepisi’s iconic film, The Devil’s Playground. Tom Allen, now in his 40s and recently having lost his wife, is a well-regarded psychiatrist in Sydney and a father to two children. As a devout Catholic, Tom agrees to a request from the Bishop of Sydney to serve as a counselor for priests. Through these counseling sessions, he stumbles upon a scandal and becomes entangled in the Church’s efforts to conceal it. Tom’s pursuit of justice will test his limits and expose him to a level of Church authority and corruption he never anticipated.
