In 1715, on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the first operational democracy in the Americas emerges, where the infamous pirate Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard, presides over a rebellious community of thieves, outlaws, and unruly sailors. This unique locale, part ramshackle settlement and part pirate utopia, poses an increasing threat to global trade. To bring this formidable society under control, Tom Lowe, a highly adept undercover assassin, is dispatched to this pirate stronghold with the mission to eliminate the ingenious and captivating Blackbeard. However, as Lowe delves deeper, he discovers that his mission is far from straightforward. He finds himself drawn to Blackbeard’s political vision and insatiable quest for knowledge, which defies all laws. Yet, Lowe is not the only peril to Blackbeard’s dominion.
