The most recent host was Australian model Sarah Murdoch, who also acted as the lead judge and co-executive producer from cycles five to seven. Previous hosts included Jodhi Meares and Erika Heynatz. An eighth season was planned for production and airing in 2013, but a new host needed to be found before filming could resume.

In April 2012, it was announced that the show would pause for the year because the producers were struggling to find a successor for Sarah Murdoch. On November 19, 2012, it was revealed that Jennifer Hawkins, a beauty queen, model, and TV personality, would take over as the host for the upcoming eighth season.
