Lucy Pierce always thought her childhood was ordinary until she stumbled upon old news stories about the “Baby Victoria” kidnapping—a widely publicized abduction case. To her astonishment, her own baby photo was prominently featured. Driven by a need for answers, Lucy seeks out her birth mother, Elizabeth Marshall, a criminal prosecutor who is campaigning to become the Governor of Pennsylvania. While Lucy’s meeting with Elizabeth is emotional, her interaction with her newly discovered sister, Terri, is far less harmonious. The family reunion quickly unravels as Lucy becomes entangled in a police investigation. As she wonders who might be trying to tarnish her reputation, she begins to suspect that something more menacing might be at play, threatening to fracture the family once more.
