In 1951, a physician aims to create a memorable holiday for his anxious wife before his deployment to Korea, but his meticulously arranged Christmas Eve plans are disrupted when she unexpectedly breaks her arm. Fast forward to 2003, where a recently wed couple, who usually see eye to eye on everything, invite both sets of in-laws over for Christmas Eve for the first time, only to discover they might not be as compatible as they believed. Jumping ahead to 2024, another couple attempts to organize unique Christmas surprises for one another, but they find that maintaining secrecy is more challenging than anticipated.
