In late December 2012, Taipei experiences an unusual winter heatwave, with temperatures soaring into the 30s. Eight-year-old Tiger, also known as Antoine, resides with his 36-year-old mother, Cao Yi, played by Vivian Hsu. Cao Yi, a magazine editor, is struggling financially due to reduced alimony from her ex-husband, Tang Kuo-chung. Tiger, who possesses a vivid imagination, perceives his mother as a worn-out robot in need of an upgrade. His lackluster performance at school and the somber drawings he creates in class concern his art teacher, portrayed by Mini Yang.
