Grace, a strikingly beautiful nurse, is trapped in a cycle of suffering and despair. Her heroin addiction has led to the heartbreaking loss of her cherished daughter, Jessica, and threatens her career at the hospital. She numbs her pain with the temporary escape provided by drugs, drifting through her days in a haze of hopelessness. After a nearly fatal overdose, she finds herself in the hospital where she works, but also in the care of Clayton, an eccentric janitor. Clayton, a survivalist who spends his weekends hunting rabbits at an abandoned school in the remote countryside, takes Grace to his improvised underground shelter. Upon waking, Grace hears Clayton’s strange tale, in which he claims to have rescued her not only from her addiction but also from the world’s impending dangers.
