In the winter of 2002, more than 300 corpses were found scattered across the grounds of the Tri-State Crematory in Noble, Georgia, in different states of decomposition. “Sahkanaga” envisions this incident through the eyes of a teenager who stumbles upon the initial body. Shot on location in Walker County, Georgia, the film features a cast of amateur actors, some of whom were directly linked to the actual scandal. “Sahkanaga” explores a close-knit community facing an impending disaster and their attempts to comprehend the incomprehensible.
