At Kinetech Labs, an engineer named Allan Topher creates a robot intended for search and rescue missions. However, upon learning that the robot is destined for military use, he reprograms it to escape. During its getaway, the robot sustains damage and is found by 12-year-old Henry Keller, who repairs it and names it Cody. With no memory of its origins, Cody forms a bond with Henry. Eventually, Kinetech and Allan track down Cody and retrieve it. Feeling remorseful for separating Cody from Henry, Allan returns the robot to him. During this time, Allan meets and falls in love with Henry’s mother, Joanna. Determined to reclaim the robot, Kinetech kidnaps Allan and Joanna. In response, Henry and Cody set out on a mission to rescue them and dismantle Kinetech’s plans.
