Sen no Rikyu, portrayed by Ebizo Ichikawa, is the offspring of a fish merchant. He delves into the art of tea and rises to become a pivotal figure in shaping the Japanese tea ceremony. His refined sense of aesthetics earns him the admiration of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, played by Nao Omori, the most influential figure in Japan, who makes Rikyu one of his trusted advisors. However, due to arising disputes, Toyotomi Hideyoshi ultimately commands Sen no Rikyu to perform seppuku, a ritual suicide.
