The university is now under the control of the nerds, thanks to the efforts of Lewis Skolnick and his friends in the previous two films. However, a new wave of athletes arrives, eager to reclaim the school. The principal, a former adversary of the nerds, supports the athletes, leading to the nerds being oppressed once more. Harold Skolnick seeks assistance from his uncle Lewis, the protagonist of the earlier movies. Initially, Lewis is reluctant to embrace his nerdy past and is unwilling to assist his nephew. Yet, his wife persuades him to reconsider, and with the support of his old friends, they embark on a mission to regain control of the school using their signature nerd tactics.
