On her way back from a recent prenatal check-up, Esther Woodhouse, who is heavily pregnant, is viciously assaulted and left scarred by an unknown attacker wearing a hood. Surprisingly, this traumatic incident turns out to be a hidden blessing as Esther discovers comfort in a support group. Her previously lonely and sorrowful existence is transformed by newfound friendships, empathy, and a sense of belonging. Yet, these connections can become perilous when extended to individuals with questionable intentions.
