Set in the quaint coastal town of Bright Leaf, North Carolina, “Pieces of Talent” follows Charlotte, a disenchanted aspiring actress who works nights as a cocktail waitress to pay her bills. Her luck changes when a seemingly random event introduces her to David Long, a local filmmaker. The two quickly form a friendship, leading to Charlotte securing the lead role in David’s latest project. As David becomes increasingly fixated on Charlotte, he begins crafting his magnum opus, capturing each interaction with the intention of making Charlotte the centerpiece of his final piece. David is a contentedly obsessed artist, determined to do whatever it takes to create “true art.” He uses his charisma and expertise to transform something dark and twisted into something that appears beautiful and affectionate.
