Seth, a young man with a passion for art and an interest in Black pop culture, finds himself stuck in a stagnant life in a small Adirondack village. His interactions with Kristen are a mix of tenderness and harshness, as he vehemently rejects her desire for a sexual relationship. One night, while closing the café where he works, Seth is confronted by a young Black man attempting a robbery at gunpoint, only for the man to collapse due to illness. Seth decides to help the man, Knowledge, who has escaped from a nearby prison, by taking him to a family cabin to recover. As they slowly form a friendship, the local sheriff discovers Seth is sheltering a fugitive, setting the stage for an impending showdown. The film also explores the complex dynamics between fathers and their children in its subplots.
