On the brink of hopelessness due to his tightly regulated existence, a socially awkward teenage nerd goes to a student conference. There, he unexpectedly tunes into the mind of a defiant, young schizophrenic and discovers his own telepathic abilities. However, when a scientist conducting immoral experiments abducts him, he is forced to mature quickly, take charge, and seek assistance from this unexpected ally to save himself and other young telepaths from being killed.
