Frederick Schopner, a young consultant in management, is invited to a unique team-building exercise. He and his fellow consultants are to be pursued through an outdoor obstacle course, where their leadership skills and teamwork abilities will be evaluated through video monitoring. The event’s twist: the company has enlisted two aging actors to stage a mock kidnapping, holding the consultants hostage with fake weapons and demanding a hefty ransom from the company. It’s intended to be a realistic and entertaining role-play. However, the plan goes awry when the actors become so immersed in the scenario that they decide to execute it for real, using actual firearms. Meanwhile, Vanessa, the Human Resources manager, is watching the events unfold on video and must find a way to prevent the hostage situation from spiraling out of control.
