Matt, a self-centered young lawyer, travels to see his grandfather, an eccentric hermit living in the remote woods without modern conveniences like gas, electricity, or a phone. Matt’s goal is to persuade his grandfather not to donate his estate. However, it is Matt who ends up being inspired to change his own life. The film stars Jason London and Ed Asner. When a woman needs someone to care for her elderly father (played by Ed Asner), her unreliable son isn’t her first choice. Matt (played by Jason London) struggles with his career, love life, and finances, so it’s hard to imagine him taking responsibility for his grandfather. Yet, out of necessity, Matt visits his grandfather’s secluded home. Adjusting to this minimalist lifestyle is challenging for Matt, but he encounters a single mother who teaches him the value of a simpler way of living.
