Erika Shinohara, portrayed by Fumi Nikaido, is a high school freshman who fabricates a tale about having a boyfriend while chatting with her friends. In truth, Erika is single, and her friends start to question her story as her web of lies begins to unravel. In a bid to maintain her facade, Erika snaps a photo of an attractive boy she spots on the street, presenting it to her friends as proof of her boyfriend. The boy in the photo is Kyouya Sata, played by Kento Yamazaki, who coincidentally attends the same school as Erika. She confides in Kyouya about her predicament and requests that he pose as her boyfriend. Despite Kyouya’s charming exterior, he harbors a more sinister side.
